03:19 pm - Great Explorations to Host Programs at Clearwater Main Library Join the Clearwater Main Library for a series of programs presented by Great Explorations, The Children’s Museum. Geared toward students in grades 3 through 5, the first program, Once Upon A Time, will be Saturday, March 15 at 2 p.m. Stories will be told in an atmosphere of wonder, excitement and surprise. On April 12 at 2 p.m., children will learn what it takes to be a performer as they go through a training session called Acting 4 U Performing Arts. The last program, Kid Kemistry, is May 17 at 2 p.m. This scientific presentation teaches the difference between substance and solution. Great Explorations, The Children’s Museum, is located in St. Petersburg. All programs are free.

05:55 pm - The Magic of Reading with Ben Franklin at the Clearwater Main Library Children can learn about the life of Ben Franklin and how to make reading more fun at Clearwater Main Library, Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 4 p.m.
Dr. Rich Davis travels the U.S. with his world-class program titled The Magic of Reading with Ben Franklin. His educational assembly program will delight children in grades kindergarten through 8th, as well as adults. 08:42 am - Magic Appears at Clearwater Library Mark the Balloon Guy’s Magic Show will serve up magic, reading, and fun at the Clearwater Main Library, Thursday, August 2, 7 p.m.
Mark “the Balloon Guy” Byrne was named "Most Original Performer" by the International Brotherhood of Magicians in the Strolling Olympics. Mark is a world-class balloon twister and each creation is individually sculpted to fit people's personalities.

11:29 am - Shana Banana Entertains @ Clearwater Libraries
Award-winning singer/songwriter, Shana Banana, will perform at Clearwater libraries to kick-off the summer programs: Shana Banana’s shows and songs encompass a variety of themes, including reading, movement, imagination, the ocean, the environment, and acceptance of others. She presents songs and stories from other cultures, from Japanese to Caribbean to American Indian, and encourages kids to learn simple foreign language words and numbers. Shana has earned Parents' Choice and NAPPA awards, Kids First! endorsement, 2000-2001 nominations for Campus Activities Family and Children's Entertainer of the Year, and an invitation to perform at the White House.
