Occasionally I'll be posting about sites of interest and those that have been recently added to the growing list of Internet websites on the Reference Page. If you have time, please take a look. What's New-- Clearwater GIS Community Analysis - The City of Clearwater’s Interactive GIS, or Geographic Information System, is a mapping software application that allows residents to find statistics on crime, traffic accidents, building permits, and more by address location. Location: Community Resources Fortune 500 (Lists from 1955-2006) - A database of every year of FORTUNE's list of America's largest corporations. Provides Fortune 500 lists from 1955-2006, complete with company information. 08:00 pm - AP Photo Archive - Database of the Month Looking for photographs, audio sound bites, graphics and articles spanning over 160 years of history? The Clearwater Public Library System has the resource for you.
The Associated Press Photo Archive is a searchable database of photographs dating back to 1826 along with AP news stories from 1997 to the present, plus a collection of maps, graphs, charts, logos, flags and illustrations. These images can be used in research papers, reports and PowerPoint presentations. So whether you are looking for a picture of the Wright Brothers or want to hear the British anthem, check out AP Photo Archive at your Clearwater library.

What's New Mouse Exercises - For patrons new to using a mouse, it take a little practice. This site provides some simple exercises. Provided by Senior Net.(Location: Computer Technology/Internet Tutorials) World History for Us All - World History for Us All is a curriculum for teaching world history in middle and high schools. It contains a History of the World in Seven Minutes, offers teaching units, lesson plans, activities, and resources and introduces educators to an integrative approach to world history, culture, and geography. What's New Deaf and Hearing Connection - Visit this source for information for the local deaf community including hearing aids, free telephone distribution, events, volunteer opportunities and other services. (Distribution at the Clearwater Main Library the second Wednesday of every month, 1 PM - 3 PM.) (Location: Community Resources/Deaf Services) USA.Gov, (formally called FirstGov, same information- new name and URL) - Connects you to millions of web pages from the federal government, local and tribal governments and to foreign nations around the world. On USA.Gov, you can search millions of web pages from federal and state governments, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories. Most of these pages are not available on commercial websites. (Location: Government) What's Relevant AARP Tax Aide - Visit the Tax Aide page of AARP to find a tax preparation site, find answers to tax questions, and locate links to tax and other financial web pages.
